Property that is not the subject of a claim for restitution may be sold in accordance with the forms provided for in Title IV of Book VI of the legislative part of this code on expiry of a period of one month after formal notice has been sent to the owner. This formal notice, which may be sent as soon as the proceedings are opened, is sent by the liquidator to the owner’s last known address by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt.
The sale price is deposited by the liquidator with the Caisse des dépôts et consignations and, after deduction of costs, is held at the disposal of the creditor, who is notified by the liquidator by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt. After closure of the proceedings, the amount thus deposited shall be returned to the creditor or his assigns by the Caisse des dépôts et consignations by order of the president.
