Decisions concerning the creation, characteristics, withdrawal or cancellation of banknotes and coins issued by the Institut d’émission d’outre-mer are taken by the Supervisory Board.
The Institut d’émission d’outre-mer pays the State the balance of banknotes and coins it has withdrawn from circulation and stripped of their legal tender status.
Les décisions concernant la création des billets et des monnaies métalliques de l’Institut d’émission d’outre-mer, leurs caractéristiques, leur retrait ou leur annulation sont de la compétence du conseil de surveillance.
L’Institut d’émission d’outre-mer verse à l’Etat le solde non présenté à ses guichets des billets et pièces qu’il a retirés de la circulation et privés du cours légal.
