The declaration of cash transported by bearer provided for in Article L. 722-6 is made in writing, on paper or electronically, by the bearers of the cash, to the customs authorities, no later than the time at which the cash crosses the border into another country.
When made no earlier than thirty days before the cash crosses the border into another country, the declaration is sent electronically using the teleservice, the name and characteristics of which are laid down by order of the Minister responsible for customs.
If the declaration is made when the border with the foreign country is crossed, it must be lodged with the customs department, either on paper or electronically using the teleservice mentioned in the second paragraph.
The transmission of the electronic declaration using the teleservice mentioned in the second paragraph has the same legal effects as the lodging of a signed declaration drawn up on paper.
