Article R73 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Where the communication of conviction notices is provided for by international conventions, copies of the records are drawn up and transmitted, by letter, fax or secure electronic means, by the automated national criminal records department to the authorities provided for by these conventions.

In the jurisdictions of the judicial courts for which the decrees provided for in the article 10 of Law no. 80-2 of 4 January 1980, copies of the records shall be sent by the registry to the automated national criminal record with a view to their transmission to the competent authorities.

Notification of a conviction or of the modification or deletion of a conviction concerning a national of a Member State of the European Union is transmitted without delay to the competent authority of that State.

Lorsque la communication d’avis de condamnation est prévue par des conventions internationales, les copies des fiches sont établies et transmises, par lettre, télécopie ou voie électronique sécurisée, par le service du casier judiciaire national automatisé aux autorités prévues par ces conventions.

Dans les ressorts des tribunaux judiciaires pour lesquels ne sont pas intervenus les décrets prévus par l’article 10 de la loi n° 80-2 du 4 janvier 1980, les copies des fiches sont adressées par le greffe au casier judiciaire national automatisé en vue de leur transmission aux autorités compétentes.

L’avis de condamnation ou de modification ou de suppression d’une condamnation concernant un ressortissant d’un Etat membre de l’Union européenne est transmis sans délai à l’autorité compétente de cet Etat.
