Article R734-5 of the French Monetary and Financial Code

I. – Are applicable in the Wallis and Futuna Islands, subject to the adaptations provided for in II, the provisions of the articles mentioned in the left-hand column of the table below, in the wording indicated in the right-hand column of the same table:

II. – For the application of I:
1° The words: “La Poste” are deleted;
2° In article R. 123-1:
a) In the first and second paragraphs, the words: “the Banque de France or the public institution La Monnaie de Paris” are replaced by the words: “the Institut d’émission d’outre-mer”;
b) The last paragraph is replaced by the following provisions: “The Institut d’émission d’outre-mer authenticates the banknotes and coins submitted to it pursuant to the first paragraph. It shall withhold monetary signs that it recognises as counterfeit or falsified.

Article R734-5

I. – Sont applicables dans les îles Wallis et Futuna, sous réserve des adaptations prévues au II, les dispositions des articles mentionnés dans la colonne de gauche du tableau ci-après, dans leur rédaction indiquée dans la colonne de droite du même tableau :

II. – Pour l’application du I :
1° Les mots : « La Poste » sont supprimés ;
2° A l’article R. 123-1 :
a) Aux premier et deuxième alinéas, les mots : « la Banque de France ou à l’établissement public La Monnaie de Paris » sont remplacés par les mots : « l’Institut d’émission d’outre-mer » ;
b) Le dernier alinéa est remplacé par les dispositions suivantes : « L’Institut d’émission d’outre-mer authentifie les billets et les pièces qui lui sont remis en application du premier alinéa. Il retient les signes monétaires qu’il reconnaît comme contrefaits ou falsifiés. »
