Article R751-7 of the French Commercial code

Halves of the committee are elected every three years.

The chairman and the two vice-chairmen are elected at the first meeting of the committee after the end of the appointments following the partial renewal of the committee. The oldest member of the committee elects the chairman, the first vice-chairman and the second vice-chairman in turn. They are elected by an absolute majority. If an absolute majority is not obtained in the first ballot, a second ballot is held. Only the two candidates who received the highest number of votes in the first round may stand. In the event of a tie, the older of the two candidates is elected. Voting is by secret ballot.

Article R751-7
