Article R8124-31 of the French Labour Code

Enforcement officers take an oath to perform their duties in accordance with this Code.

The oath is taken at the time of their first assignment to a control unit, in open court, before the president of the judicial court within whose jurisdiction their place of assignment is located.

The wording of the oath is as follows:

“I undertake to perform my supervisory duties with dignity, impartiality, integrity, neutrality and probity. I undertake not to reveal any manufacturing secrets or operating processes that may come to my knowledge in the course of my duties. “

Les agents de contrôle prêtent serment de remplir leurs missions conformément au présent code.


La prestation de serment intervient, lors de leur première affectation en unité de contrôle, en audience publique, devant le président du tribunal judiciaire dans le ressort duquel se trouve leur lieu d’affectation.


La formule du serment est la suivante :


“ Je m’engage à exercer mes fonctions de contrôle avec dignité, impartialité, intégrité, neutralité et probité. Je m’engage à ne pas révéler les secrets de fabrication et les procédés d’exploitation dont je pourrais prendre connaissance dans l’exercice de mes fonctions. ”
