Article 1122 of the French Civil Code

The law or the contract may provide for a cooling-off period, which is the period before the expiry of which the recipient of the offer may not express his acceptance, or a withdrawal period, which is the period before the expiry of which the recipient may withdraw his consent.

La loi ou le contrat peuvent prévoir un délai de réflexion, qui est le délai avant l’expiration duquel le destinataire de l’offre ne peut manifester son acceptation ou un délai de rétractation, qui est le délai avant l’expiration duquel son bénéficiaire peut rétracter son consentement.
