Article 1204 of the French Code of civil procedure

The following shall be summoned to the hearing, by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt to which the application is attached, at least eight days before the date of the hearing:

1° The petitioner;

2° The parents of the minor;

3° The person, establishment or service that has taken in the child;

4° Where applicable, the minor’s guardian;

5° Where the petition is for the delegation of the exercise of parental authority, the third party applying for delegation.

Counsel for the parties, if they are assisted or represented, and the public prosecutor are also notified of the date of the hearing.

The summonses and notices inform the addressees of the possibility of consulting the file in accordance with article 1208-1.

Article 1204

Sont convoqués à l’audience, par lettre recommandée avec avis de réception à laquelle la requête est annexée, huit jours au moins avant la date de celle-ci :

1° Le requérant ;

2° Les parents du mineur ;

3° La personne, l’établissement ou le service qui a recueilli l’enfant ;

4° Le cas échéant, le tuteur du mineur ;

5° Lorsque la demande tend à la délégation de l’exercice de l’autorité parentale, le tiers candidat à la délégation.

Les conseils des parties, si elles sont assistées ou représentées, ainsi que le ministère public sont également avisés de la date de l’audience.

Les convocations et avis informent les destinataires de la possibilité de consulter le dossier conformément à l’article 1208-1.
