Article 1209-1 of the French Code of civil procedure

For applications for delegation of parental authority, the appeal is lodged in accordance with the rules laid down in articles 931 to 934.

The court clerk shall notify, by simple letter, the persons and department to whom the decision has been notified and who have not themselves lodged the appeal and shall inform them that they will subsequently be summoned to appear before the court.

The appeal shall be heard and judged in chambers by the court of appeal responsible for juvenile matters in accordance with the procedure applicable at first instance.

The decisions of the court of appeal shall be notified as stated in article 1208-3.

Pour les demandes de délégation d’autorité parentale, l’appel est formé selon les règles édictées aux articles 931 à 934.

Le greffier avise de l’appel, par lettre simple, les personnes et le service auxquels la décision a été notifiée et qui ne l’auraient pas eux-mêmes formé et les informe qu’ils seront ultérieurement convoqués devant la cour.

L’appel est instruit et jugé en chambre du conseil par la cour d’appel chargée des affaires de mineurs suivant la procédure applicable en première instance.

Les décisions de la cour d’appel sont notifiées comme il est dit à l’article 1208-3.
