Article 125 of the French Customs Code

Transit is the right to transport goods under customs control either to or from a specific point in the customs territory.

Unless otherwise provided, goods sent in transit benefit from the suspension of duties, taxes, prohibitions and other economic, fiscal or customs measures applicable to such goods.

In the case of goods declared for export, transit also guarantees fulfilment of the conditions to which the effects of export are subject.

Article 125

Le transit consiste dans la faculté de transporter des marchandises sous douane soit à destination, soit au départ d’un point déterminé du territoire douanier.

Sauf dispositions contraires, les marchandises expédiées en transit bénéficient de la suspension des droits, taxes, prohibitions et autres mesures économiques, fiscales ou douanières applicables à ces marchandises.

En ce qui concerne les marchandises déclarées pour l’exportation, le transit garantit, en outre, l’exécution des conditions auxquelles sont subordonnés les effets attachés à l’exportation.
