Article 131-12 of the French Code of civil procedure

At any time, the parties, or the most diligent of them, may submit the agreement resulting from the mediation to the judge for homologation. The judge shall rule on the request submitted to him or her without debate, unless he or she deems it necessary to hear the parties at the hearing.

Approval is a non-contentious matter.

The provisions of the two preceding paragraphs shall apply to an agreement resulting from a conventional mediation conducted while legal proceedings are in progress.

A tout moment, les parties, ou la plus diligente d’entre elles, peuvent soumettre à l’homologation du juge l’accord issu de la médiation. Le juge statue sur la requête qui lui est présentée sans débat, à moins qu’il n’estime nécessaire d’entendre les parties à l’audience.

L’homologation relève de la matière gracieuse.

Les dispositions des deux alinéas précédents s’appliquent à l’accord issu d’une médiation conventionnelle intervenue alors qu’une instance judiciaire est en cours.
