Article 1503 of the French Civil Code

The spouses may agree that they will jointly administer the community.

In this case, acts of administration and disposal of community property are made under the joint signature of both spouses and they automatically entail joint and several obligations.

Conservatory acts may be made separately by each spouse.

Les époux peuvent convenir qu’ils administreront conjointement la communauté.

En ce cas les actes d’administration et de disposition des biens communs sont faits sous la signature conjointe des deux époux et ils emportent de plein droit solidarité des obligations.

Les actes conservatoires peuvent être faits séparément par chaque époux.
