Article 1551 of the French Code of civil procedure

The parties provide the technician with the documents required to complete his assignment.

When the inertia of a party prevents the technician from carrying out his assignment, he summons all the parties and indicates to them the steps he considers necessary. If the party does not comply with the technician’s request, the technician will continue with his assignment on the basis of the information available to him.

Les parties communiquent au technicien les documents nécessaires à l’accomplissement de sa mission.


Lorsque l’inertie d’une partie empêche le technicien de mener à bien sa mission, il convoque l’ensemble des parties en leur indiquant les diligences qu’il estime nécessaires. Si la partie ne défère pas à sa demande, le technicien poursuit sa mission à partir des éléments dont il dispose.
