Article 194-1 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

When a case is referred to the Investigating Chamber on remand after cassation, it shall rule within the time limits set out in articles 148-2, 186-2, 186-4 and 194. These time limits run from receipt by the public prosecutor at the court of appeal of the judgment and the file transmitted by the public prosecutor at the Court of Cassation.

Lorsque la chambre de l’instruction est saisie sur renvoi après cassation, elle statue dans les délais prévus aux articles 148-2, 186-2, 186-4 et 194. Ces délais courent à compter de la réception par le procureur général près la cour d’appel de l’arrêt et du dossier transmis par le procureur général près la Cour de cassation.
