Article 202 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

It may, of its own motion or at the request of the Public Prosecutor, order that he or she be informed in respect of the persons under investigation or defendants referred to it on all the counts of crimes, misdemeanours, contraventions, principal or related, resulting from the file of the proceedings, which may not have been covered by the order of the investigating judge or which may have been distracted by an order partially dismissing the case, disjoining it or referring it to the criminal or police court.

It may rule without ordering a new investigation if the charges referred to in the previous paragraph were included in the acts for which the person was investigated by the examining magistrate.

Article 202

Elle peut, d’office ou sur réquisitions du procureur général, ordonner qu’il soit informé à l’égard des personnes mises en examen ou prévenus renvoyés devant elle sur tous les chefs de crimes, de délits, de contraventions, principaux ou connexes, résultant du dossier de la procédure, qui n’auraient pas été visés par l’ordonnance du juge d’instruction ou qui auraient été distraits par une ordonnance comportant non-lieu partiel, disjonction ou renvoi devant la juridiction correctionnelle ou de police.

Elle peut statuer sans ordonner une nouvelle information si les chefs de poursuite visés à l’alinéa précédent ont été compris dans les faits pour lesquels la personne à été mise en examen par le juge d’instruction.
