Aid for the distribution of previously unreleased works is awarded on the basis of :
1° The artistic quality of the cinematographic works submitted, the distribution forecasts and conditions announced, the efforts planned in terms of showing the works in cinemas, the promotional work envisaged, as well as compliance with the commitments made in the aid agreement in respect of the granting of previous aid;
2° The size of the company;
3° The financial and legal situation of the company;
4° In the case of grants awarded for an annual distribution programme, the quality and consistency of the company’s editorial line and the distribution work carried out in the year preceding the application;
5° The proportion of release plans for arthouse cinematographic works actually distributed by the company in at least 175 cinematographic establishments during the year preceding the application, devoted to establishments located in urban units of less than 50,000 inhabitants and communes not belonging to an urban unit, with regard to the following reference proportions:
– 17% for arthouse cinematographic works shown in 175 to 250 cinemas at the time of their national release;
– 25% for arthouse cinematographic works shown in more than 250 cinemas at the time of their national release.
