Article 249 of the French Civil Code

In divorce proceedings, an adult under guardianship is represented by his guardian and an adult under curatorship brings the action himself, with the assistance of his curator. However, the person under guardianship may accept the principle of the marriage breakdown on his or her own, regardless of the facts giving rise to it.

Dans l’instance en divorce, le majeur en tutelle est représenté par son tuteur et le majeur en curatelle exerce l’action lui-même, avec l’assistance de son curateur. Toutefois, la personne protégée peut accepter seule le principe de la rupture du mariage sans considération des faits à l’origine de celle-ci.
