Article 276 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The completion of the formalities prescribed by articles 272 to 275 is recorded in a report signed by the president or his delegate, the court clerk, the accused and, if applicable, the interpreter.

If the accused is unable or unwilling to sign, the minutes shall so state.

L’accomplissement des formalités prescrites par les articles 272 à 275 est constaté par un procès-verbal que signent le président ou son délégué, le greffier, l’accusé et, s’il y a lieu, l’interprète.

Si l’accusé ne sait ou ne veut signer, le procès-verbal en fait mention.
