Article 310-1 of the French Civil Code

Filiation is legally established, under the conditions laid down in Chapter II of this Title, by operation of law, by voluntary recognition or by possession of status established by an act of notoriety as well as, under the conditions laid down in Chapter V of this Title, by joint recognition.

It may also be established by judgment under the conditions laid down in Chapter III of this Title.

Article 310-1

La filiation est légalement établie, dans les conditions prévues au chapitre II du présent titre, par l’effet de la loi, par la reconnaissance volontaire ou par la possession d’état constatée par un acte de notoriété ainsi que, dans les conditions prévues au chapitre V du présent titre, par la reconnaissance conjointe.

Elle peut aussi l’être par jugement dans les conditions prévues au chapitre III du présent titre.
