Article 365 of the French Civil Code

The adopted person and his or her descendants have, in the adopter’s family, the succession rights provided for in Chapter III of Title I of Book III.

The adopted person and his or her descendants do not, however, have the status of a reserved heir in respect of the adopter’s ascendants.
