Article 375-2 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Persons convicted of the same crime shall be jointly and severally liable for restitution and damages.

In addition, the court may, by special reasoned decision, order that an accused person who has surrounded himself with insolvent co-perpetrators or accomplices shall be jointly and severally liable for fines.

En outre, la cour peut, par décision spéciale et motivée, ordonner que l’accusé qui s’est entouré de coauteurs ou de complices insolvables sera tenu solidairement des amendes.
