Article 420 of the French Code of civil procedure

The lawyer shall fulfil the obligations of his mandate without any new power until the execution of the judgment provided that this is undertaken less than one year after the judgment has become res judicata.

These provisions shall not prevent direct payment to the party of what is due to him.

L’avocat remplit les obligations de son mandat sans nouveau pouvoir jusqu’à l’exécution du jugement pourvu que celle-ci soit entreprise moins d’un an après que ce jugement soit passé en force de chose jugée.

Ces dispositions ne font pas obstacle au paiement direct à la partie de ce qui lui est dû.
