Article 494-11 of the French Civil Code

Other than the death of the person in respect of whom family habilitation has been issued, it is terminated:

1° By the person concerned being placed under legal protection, curatorship or guardianship;

2° In the event of a final and binding discharge judgment issued by the judge at the request of the protected person, one of the persons mentioned in article 494-1 or the Public Prosecutor, where it is found that the conditions set out in this article are no longer met or where the execution of family habilitation is likely to harm the interests of the protected person;

3° By operation of law in the absence of renewal on expiry of the period set;

4° After completion of the acts for which habilitation had been granted.

Outre le décès de la personne à l’égard de qui l’habilitation familiale a été délivrée, celle-ci prend fin :

1° Par le placement de l’intéressé sous sauvegarde de justice, sous curatelle ou sous tutelle ;

2° En cas de jugement de mainlevée passé en force de chose jugée prononcé par le juge à la demande de la personne protégée, de l’une des personnes mentionnées à l’article 494-1 ou du procureur de la République, lorsqu’il s’avère que les conditions prévues à cet article ne sont plus réunies ou lorsque l’exécution de l’habilitation familiale est de nature à porter atteinte aux intérêts de la personne protégée ;

3° De plein droit en l’absence de renouvellement à l’expiration du délai fixé ;

4° Après l’accomplissement des actes pour lesquels l’habilitation avait été délivrée.
