Article 541 of the French Code of civil procedure

When an interested party has been unable, through no fault of his own, to lodge an appeal against a non-contentious decision within the prescribed time limit, he may be relieved of the time limit under the conditions set out in the previous article.

Lorsqu’un intéressé n’a pu, sans faute de sa part, exercer dans le délai prescrit le recours ouvert contre une décision gracieuse, il peut être relevé de la forclusion dans les conditions prévues à l’article précédent.
