Article 60-9 of the French Customs Code

Customs officers may only take statements with a view to recognising objects discovered during the visit.

Where a person concerned by the visit and suspected of having committed a customs offence is the subject of a measure of constraint against his person, he may not be heard in accordance with the procedures laid down in Article 67 F.

Les agents des douanes ne peuvent recueillir des déclarations qu’en vue de la reconnaissance des objets découverts lors de la visite.

Lorsqu’une personne concernée par la visite et suspectée d’avoir commis une infraction douanière fait l’objet d’une mesure de contrainte sur sa personne, elle ne peut être entendue selon les modalités prévues à l’article 67 F.
