Article 689-9 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

For the purposes of the International Convention for the Suppression of Terrorist Bombings, opened for signature in New York on 12 January 1998, may be prosecuted and tried under the conditions laid down in Article 689-1 any person guilty of a crime or offence of an act of terrorism as defined by the articles 421-1 and 421-2 of the Penal Code or the offence of terrorist association provided for by article 421-2-1 of the same code where the offence was committed using an explosive device or other lethal device as defined in Article 1 of the said convention.

Article 689-9

Pour l’application de la convention internationale pour la répression des attentats terroristes, ouverte à la signature à New York le 12 janvier 1998, peut être poursuivie et jugé dans les conditions prévues à l’article 689-1 toute personne coupable d’un crime ou d’un délit d’acte de terrorisme défini par les articles 421-1 et 421-2 du code pénal ou du délit d’association terroriste prévu par l’article 421-2-1 du même code lorsque l’infraction a été commise en employant un engin explosif ou un autre engin meurtrier défini à l’article 1er de ladite convention.
