Article 695-57 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Surrender shall not be granted to a State that is not a member of the European Union if the offence for which surrender is requested is of a political nature, unless it is an offence referred to in Articles 1 and 2 of the European Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism, signed in Strasbourg on 27 January 1977, the offence of conspiracy to commit such offences, or the offences referred to in Articles 1 to 4 of the aforementioned Framework Decision of 13 June 2002.

La remise n’est pas accordée à un Etat non membre de l’Union européenne si l’infraction à raison de laquelle elle est demandée a un caractère politique, sauf s’il s’agit d’une infraction mentionnée aux articles 1er et 2 de la convention européenne pour la répression du terrorisme, signée à Strasbourg le 27 janvier 1977, de l’infraction d’association de malfaiteurs en vue de la commission de ces infractions, ou des infractions mentionnées aux articles 1er à 4 de la décision-cadre du 13 juin 2002 précitée.
