If the person claimed lodges, within the legal time limit, an appeal in cassation against the decision of the Investigating Chamber granting his extradition, the President of the Criminal Division of the Court of Cassation or the councillor delegated by him shall, within fifteen days of the lodging of the appeal, issue an order in which he notes that the person claimed has thereby withdrawn his consent to extradition and, where applicable, that he has waived the rule of speciality. This order is not subject to appeal.
If the person claimed has been the subject of an extradition request, then the procedure shall be as set out in articles 696-15 et seq.
