For the trial of accused adults, the rules relating to the composition and operation of the assize court are set by the provisions of article 698-6. For the trial of accused minors aged at least sixteen, the rules relating to the composition and operation of the juvenile assize court are also laid down by these provisions, with two of the assessors being taken from among the juvenile judges within the jurisdiction of the court of appeal, in accordance with the provisions of article L. 231-10 of the juvenile criminal justice code. The articles L. 513-2, L. 513-4 and L. 522-1 of this code are also applicable.
For the application of the previous paragraph, the examining magistrate or the investigating chamber that issues the indictment shall establish that the acts fall within the scope of Article 706-16.
By way of derogation from Article 34, the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Assize Court ruling at first instance is represented by the Anti-Terrorism Public Prosecutor in person or by his or her deputies. On appeal, the public prosecutor may be represented by the anti-terrorist public prosecutor or one of his deputies.
