Article 77-3 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The request referred to in II of Article 77-2 shall be made to the public prosecutor under whose direction the investigation is being conducted. Failing this, if this information is not known to the person, it may be sent to the public prosecutor of the judicial court within whose jurisdiction one of the acts mentioned in the same article was carried out, who will forward it without delay to the public prosecutor leading the investigation.

Article 77-3

La demande mentionnée au II de l’article 77-2 est faite au procureur de la République sous la direction duquel l’enquête est menée. A défaut, si cette information n’est pas connue de la personne, elle peut être adressée au procureur de la République du tribunal judiciaire dans le ressort duquel l’un des actes mentionnés au même article a été réalisé, qui la transmet sans délai au procureur de la République qui dirige l’enquête.
