Article 773-1 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

A copy of each record of a custodial sentence handed down for a felony or misdemeanour is sent to the technical police record kept by the Minister of the Interior. Consultation of this file is reserved exclusively for the judicial authorities and the police and gendarmerie services.

Convictions erased by amnesty or automatic or judicial rehabilitation cease to appear in the technical police record.

Une copie de chaque fiche constatant une condamnation à une peine privative de liberté prononcée pour crime ou délit est adressée au sommier de police technique tenu par le ministre de l’intérieur. La consultation de ce fichier est exclusivement réservée aux autorités judiciaires et aux services de police et de gendarmerie.

Les condamnations effacées par une amnistie ou par la réhabilitation de plein droit ou judiciaire cessent de figurer au sommier de police technique.
