Article 775-2 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Convicts sentenced to a penalty that cannot give rise to a rehabilitation as of right benefit, upon simple request, from the exclusion of the mention of their conviction from bulletin no. 2, according to the rules of jurisdiction set by the preceding article, at the expiry of a period of twenty years from their final release or their conditional release not followed by revocation, if they have not, since this release, been sentenced to a criminal or correctional penalty.

Les condamnés à une peine ne pouvant donner lieu à réhabilitation de plein droit bénéficient, sur simple requête, de l’exclusion de la mention de leur condamnation au bulletin n° 2, selon les règles de compétence fixées par l’article précédent, à l’expiration d’un délai de vingt années à compter de leur libération définitive ou de leur libération conditionnelle non suivie de révocation, s’ils n’ont pas, depuis cette libération, été condamnés à une peine criminelle ou correctionnelle.
