The examining magistrate may, ex officio, at the request of the public prosecutor or at the request of the civil party, carry out, in accordance with the law, any act enabling him to assess the nature and extent of the harm suffered by the victim or to gather information about the victim’s personality.

Article 81-1

Le juge d’instruction peut, d’office, sur réquisition du parquet ou à la demande de la partie civile, procéder, conformément à la loi, à tout acte lui permettant d’apprécier la nature et l’importance des préjudices subis par la victime ou de recueillir des renseignements sur la personnalité de celle-ci.
