Article 824 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

For the application of Article 191, the investigating chamber of the Nouméa court of appeal and that of the Papeete court of appeal are composed of a chamber president or councillor and two judges from the jurisdiction of the court of appeal.

These magistrates are appointed each year by the first president of the court of appeal.

If a member of the investigating chamber is unable to attend, he or she is replaced by a judge appointed by the first president.

Pour l’application de l’article 191, la chambre de l’instruction de la cour d’appel de Nouméa et celle de la cour d’appel de Papeete sont composées d’un président de chambre ou d’un conseiller et de deux magistrats du siège du ressort de la cour d’appel.

Ces magistrats sont désignés chaque année par le premier président de la cour d’appel.

En cas d’empêchement d’un membre de la chambre de l’instruction, celui-ci est remplacé par un magistrat du siège désigné par le premier président.
