Article 882 of the French Civil Code

The creditors of a co-partitioner, in order to prevent the partition from being made in fraud of their rights, may object to it being made without their presence: they have the right to intervene at their own expense; but they may not attack a completed partition, unless, however, it has been made without them and to the prejudice of an objection which they have lodged.

Les créanciers d’un copartageant, pour éviter que le partage ne soit fait en fraude de leurs droits, peuvent s’opposer à ce qu’il y soit procédé hors de leur présence : ils ont le droit d’y intervenir à leurs frais ; mais ils ne peuvent attaquer un partage consommé, à moins toutefois qu’il n’y ait été procédé sans eux et au préjudice d’une opposition qu’ils auraient formée.
