Article 885 of the French Code of civil procedure

The application shall be made and the matter referred to the court by application delivered to or addressed to the court registry or by a bailiff’s deed addressed to that registry in accordance with the provisions of Articles 54, 56 with the exception of its second and fifth paragraphs, and 57.

In all cases, the application must state, even summarily, the grounds on which it is based.

Applications subject to publication in the property register are made by deed of a bailiff.

La demande est formée et le tribunal saisi par requête remise ou adressée au greffe du tribunal ou par acte d’huissier de justice adressé à ce greffe conformément aux dispositions des articles 54, 56 à l’exception de ses deuxième et cinquième alinéas, et 57.

Dans tous les cas, la demande doit indiquer, même de façon sommaire, les motifs sur lesquels elle repose.

Les demandes soumises à publication au fichier immobilier sont faites par acte d’huissier de justice.
