The training adviser is appointed by the Regional Director of Youth, Sport and the Voluntary Sector after consultation with the persons mentioned in article A. 212-136.
He or she must hold at least a first-degree state certificate in sports education (brevet d’Etat d’éducateur sportif du premier degré) in the sports option concerned, or a qualification or diploma recognised as equivalent for first-degree courses.
He must hold at least a second-degree state certificate in sports education for the sports option concerned or a qualification or diploma recognised as equivalent for second-degree courses.
The role of the course counsellor is to prepare the trainee for his or her future duties and to advise him or her on technical and teaching issues, in compliance with the technical and ethical rules of the sports discipline(s) concerned. He writes a report at the end of the work placement and attaches it to the candidate’s training booklet.
He may work with a maximum of two trainees in this role.
