Within two months of their first registration on the list of top-level athletes and annually for subsequent registrations, top-level athletes must undergo :
1° A medical examination carried out by a sports doctor, including :
a) A clinical examination including questioning and a physical examination in accordance with the recommendations of the French Society of Exercise and Sports Medicine;
b) A dietary assessment and nutritional advice;
c) A psychological assessment to identify any psychopathological problems that may be linked to intensive sports practice;
d) An indirect search for overtraining using a questionnaire drawn up in accordance with the recommendations of the French Society of Exercise and Sports Medicine;
2° A resting electrocardiogram.
At the request of the sports doctor and under his responsibility, the psychological and dietary assessments mentioned in 1° may be carried out by a clinical psychologist or dietician respectively.
