Article A322-37 of the French Sports Code

When a device is used to artificially generate waves, an orange flag is hoisted before and during wave production, indicating that diving is prohibited.
When waves are being generated, an emergency stop button for this equipment is placed in the pool surveillance area.
The wave-making chambers are inaccessible to the public.
In the wave production area, devices allow bathers to hang on to the edge of the pools. The design of these devices takes into account the presence of waves and the number of bathers likely to use them.

Lorsqu’un appareillage permet de générer artificiellement des vagues, un drapeau de couleur orange est hissé avant et pendant la production des vagues et signale l’interdiction de plonger.
En période de production des vagues, un bouton d’arrêt d’urgence de cet appareillage est placé sur le lieu de surveillance des bassins.
Les caissons nécessaires à la formation des vagues sont inaccessibles au public.
Dans la zone de production des vagues, des dispositifs permettent aux baigneurs de s’accrocher en périphérie des bassins. La conception de ces dispositifs tient compte de la présence de vagues et du nombre des baigneurs susceptibles de les utiliser.
