Article A37-1 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Unless otherwise stipulated, the form used by the ticketing officer consists of:

-a first section, measuring 100 mm × 186 mm, which constitutes the payment card;

-a second section, measuring 100 mm × 186 mm, which constitutes the ticket;

-a third section, measuring 100 mm × 186 mm, which constitutes the ticket.

The payment card and the ticket are intended for the offender.

The official statement of offence is kept by the department to which the offending officer belongs or sent to the competent gendarmerie or police unit, when the offending officers are those referred to in 2° and 8° of article L. 130-4 of the Highway Code.

Sauf s’il en est disposé autrement, le formulaire utilisé par l’agent verbalisateur est constitué :

-d’un premier volet, de format 100 mm × 186 mm, qui constitue la carte de paiement ;

-d’un deuxième volet, de format 100 mm × 186 mm, qui constitue l’avis de contravention ;

-d’un troisième volet, de format 100 mm × 186 mm, qui constitue le procès-verbal de contravention.

La carte de paiement et l’avis de contravention sont destinés au contrevenant.

Le procès-verbal de contravention est conservé par le service auquel appartient l’agent verbalisateur ou adressé à l’unité de gendarmerie ou de police compétente, quand les agents verbalisateurs sont ceux visés au 2° et au 8° de l’article L. 130-4 du code de la route.
