A person requesting the registration or publication of a deed, agreement or judgment drawn up in English or Spanish may submit the deed, agreement or judgment in its original version. This submission must be accompanied by a translation of the document in question or, failing this, a summary in French.
The translation must be drawn up by a translator approved by the French courts or authorised to act before the judicial or administrative authorities of another Member State of the European Union, a State party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or Switzerland, and must cover the entire document, agreement or judgment.
The summary includes the following information:
1° Identification of the parties to the document: company name and registered office for a legal entity, surname and address for a natural person;
2° The reference to each of the cinematographic or audiovisual works or projects mentioned in the deed, including the title and, where applicable, the registration number in the public register or the register of options;
3° The nature of each of the rights assigned, the identity of the assignee and that of the assignor, the scope of the assignment and, where applicable, the financial consideration.
The summary may consist of a translation of certain parts of the original deed drawn up by a translator approved by the French courts or authorised to act before the judicial or administrative authorities of another Member State of the European Union, a State party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or Switzerland.
The person requesting registration or publication certifies that the summary includes all of the information specified above.
