Article D133-27 of the French Tourism Code

In the event of failure to comply with the characteristics required by the classification, downgrading or removal from the list of classified bodies is pronounced after the representative of the State in the department has ordered the tourist office to comply within three months. This injunction is sent for information to the mayor of the municipality concerned or, where applicable, to the president of the inter-municipal cooperation body.

En cas de manquement au respect des caractéristiques exigées par le classement, le déclassement ou la radiation de la liste des organismes classés est prononcé après injonction de mise en conformité faite par le représentant de l’Etat dans le département auprès de l’office de tourisme, dans un délai de trois mois. Cette injonction est communiquée pour information au maire de la commune intéressée ou, le cas échéant, au président de l’établissement de coopération intercommunale.
