Each minister appoints a senior civil servant responsible for preparing his or her administration’s contribution to the implementation of the Government’s policy on health and the reduction of health inequalities. This senior civil servant coordinates the development and monitoring of the administration’s action plans aimed at integrating health into public policy. He/she monitors work relating to the inclusion of health and health inequalities in draft legislative and regulatory texts.
A permanent select committee, chaired by the Director General of Health, brings together senior civil servants from the Ministries of Social Affairs, Agriculture, Economy and Finance, Education, the Environment, Higher Education and Research, Town and Country Planning, Housing, Youth, Sport and Labour. It includes, as necessary, senior officials from other ministries.
This committee prepares the work and deliberations of the Interministerial Health Committee and coordinates their implementation. It leads and coordinates the work of senior civil servants to ensure that health is taken into account in public policy. It receives draft texts monitored by these senior officials under the provisions of the first paragraph.
