Article D143-1 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Sentenced persons incarcerated in detention centres may benefit from the temporary absences provided for in article D. 143, when they have served one-third of their sentence.

In their case, the duration of such leave may be extended to five days and, once a year, to ten days.

Les personnes condamnées incarcérées dans les centres de détention peuvent bénéficier des permissions de sortir prévues à l’article D. 143, lorsqu’elles ont exécuté le tiers de leur peine.

A leur égard, la durée de ces permissions peut être portée à cinq jours et, une fois par an, à dix jours.
