Article D231-1-1 of the French Sports Code

The provisions of articles L. 231-2 to L. 231-2-3 apply to any licence issued by a sports federation entitling the holder to practice one or more of the sports it organises.

The one-year period mentioned in article L. 231-2-3 is assessed on the day the athlete applies for the licence or registers for the competition.

The medical certificate referred to in articles L. 231-2 and L. 231-2-1 used to establish the absence of any contraindication to practising sport states, where applicable, the discipline(s) for which practising is contraindicated. At the request of the licence-holder, it may cover only one discipline or a group of related disciplines.

Les dispositions des articles L. 231-2 à L. 231-2-3 s’appliquent à toute licence délivrée par une fédération sportive ouvrant droit à la pratique d’une ou plusieurs disciplines sportives qu’elle organise.

La durée d’un an mentionnée à l’article L. 231-2-3 s’apprécie au jour de la demande de la licence ou de l’inscription à la compétition par le sportif.

Le certificat médical mentionné aux articles L. 231-2 et L. 231-2-1 permettant d’établir l’absence de contre-indication à la pratique du sport énonce, s’il y a lieu, la ou les disciplines pour lesquelles la pratique est contre-indiquée. Il peut, à la demande du licencié, ne porter que sur une discipline ou un ensemble de disciplines connexes.
