The authorisation to use a prohibited substance or method for therapeutic purposes, provided for inarticle L. 232-2, is granted when each of the following conditions is met on a balance of probabilities:
1° The prohibited substance or method in question is necessary for the treatment of a medical condition whose diagnosis is supported by relevant clinical evidence ;
2° The therapeutic use of the Prohibited Substance or Prohibited Method is not likely to produce any enhancement of performance other than that attributable to the athlete’s return to a state of normal health following treatment of the medical condition;
3° The Prohibited Substance or Prohibited Method is an indicated treatment for the medical condition with no reasonable, permitted therapeutic alternative;
4° The need to use a Prohibited Substance or Prohibited Method is not a consequence, in whole or in part, of the prior unauthorised Use for therapeutic purposes of a Prohibited Substance or Prohibited Method at the time of its Use.
