The rules relating to advertising inside specialised sales outlets, in particular restaurants and hotels, are set out in Articles R. 3323-2 to R. 3323-4 of the Public Health Code, which are reproduced below:
“Art. R. 3323-2 of the Public Health Code.
The specialised sales outlets mentioned in 3° of article L. 3323-2 are :
1° Sales outlets whose operator holds a licence authorising him to sell alcoholic beverages under the conditions set out in articles L. 3331-1 to L. 3331-3, with the exception of service stations;
2° The temporary outlets provided for in articles L. 3334-1 and L. 3334-2 ;
3° Permanent facilities for the direct sale of alcoholic beverages by farmers. ”

Inside the points of sale defined in article R. 3323-2, the size of an advertising poster for an alcoholic beverage may not exceed 0.35 square metres.
In the rooms of public houses, restaurants and hotels, billboards advertising an alcoholic beverage may be placed on a counter or table.
These signs and easels must comply with the provisions of article L. 3323-4. ”

In pubs, restaurants and hotels, the equipment, crockery and objects of any kind strictly reserved for the operation of the establishment, for the use of staff during their professional activities and for that of customers during their visit or stay in the establishment, may evoke the name of an alcoholic beverage. In this case, they may not be sold or given free of charge to the public.
The terraces of public houses located on the public domain are considered to be an extension of the establishment.
Advertising on parasols may only include the name of a producer or distributor of an alcoholic beverage, or the brand name of such a beverage, to the exclusion of any slogan, by means of an inscription not exceeding one third of the surface area of the parasol. “
