Article D312-7-2 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The Deputy Director of Visas may either reject the appeal or instruct the national ETIAS unit to issue the requested travel authorisation. He may delegate his signature to officials under his authority.

Le sous-directeur des visas peut soit rejeter le recours, soit donner instruction à l’unité nationale ETIAS de délivrer l’autorisation de voyage sollicitée. Il peut déléguer sa signature aux agents placés sous son autorité.
