The signposting equipment used for bathing areas open to the public free of charge, equipped and authorised, consists of:
1° A mast enabling the signs to be seen from any point in the bathing area;
2° Signs to be hoisted on this mast, namely:
a) A red flag, rectangular in shape, at least 1,250 mm high and 1,500 mm long; when hoisted at the top of the mast, this sign means “bathing prohibited”;
b) A yellow flag, of the same shape and size; when hoisted at the top of the mast, this sign means “supervised bathing with limited or marked danger”;
c) A green flag, of the same shape and size; when hoisted at the top of the mast, this sign means “supervised bathing with no apparent danger”.
These flags may not bear any symbols or inscriptions. The flagpole may only bear signs relating to bathing conditions.
3° Two identical flags, each fixed to a mast or pole at a minimum height of 2 metres, positioned close to the water and delimiting the supervised bathing area. These flags are rectangular in shape, at least 750 mm high and 900 mm long. These flags are two-coloured, consisting of two horizontal stripes of identical dimensions: red at the top and yellow at the bottom.
4° Information panels indicating, clearly and legibly, the direction of the signs mentioned in 1° to 3° as well as the location of the rescue equipment and the first-aid post. These signs, easily accessible to the public, are located at the first-aid post and before the access to the bathing area.
